This year we have decided to create 12 Monthly Focus points to help you learn more about Amor’s programs and to ask for your prayer in support of these programs. July’s monthly focus is Project Hope: Back to School!
Education is Mexico is not free. Most families have to pay a school fee, pay for uniforms and all the school supplies. When there is not always enough money for food or housing, money for school can fall away from the priority list of a family. Without this money, some children may not be able to attend school.
Education is an extremely important step in breaking the cycle of poverty. The Back to School program provides school supplies to help ease the burden of the cost of education in Mexico.
The Back to School program can also be used as an outreach tool for the Pastors to reach families that we may not be able to build a house for.
How to Get Involved:
- Donations to the Back to School program can be made online, by sending a check, or calling our San Diego office.
- We ask you to join us in prayer for this program. We pray for the education system in Mexico. We pray that each child would be able to go to school. We pray that this fund grows and that it would be used to serve God.

This year we have decided to create 12 Monthly Focus points to help you learn more about Amor’s programs and to ask for your prayer in support of these programs. July’s monthly focus is Project Hope: Hunger No More!
The Hunger No More program provides each Pastor on our Mexico Ministry Planning Board (MMPB) a stipend to feed their families and the families in their communities who might go hungry without this fund.
- Many of the Pastors on the MMPB run food programs for their communities.
- This program also provides another outreach tool for Pastors to reach families that we may not be able to build houses for.
Amor’s monthly goal for Project Hope: Hunger No More is to provide $3,000 per month’s worth of food for the Mexican Pastors to feed their families and distribute to hungry families in the Tijuana, Tecate, Rosarito, Puerto Peñasco, and Ciudad Juarez neighborhoods.
This program is so important to Amor because having food to feed your family is just as important as adequate housing.
How to Get Involved:
- Donations to the Hunger No More program can be made online, by sending a check or calling the San Diego office.
- We ask you to join us in prayer for this program. We pray that this fund would grow and that the love of Christ would be spread through the food that is given.

This year we have decided to create 12 Monthly Focus points to tell groups about to help all of us learn about Amor’s programs and to ask for your prayer in support of our programs. June’s monthly focus is the Founders’ Fund!
Amor raises money for all kinds of different programs. Most of the time that donations come in they are specified for a specific program –therefore we must use that money in that exact way.
The Founders Fund is a fund that is not specified for a specific program, but is used to provide the means to respond to unanticipated and urgent needs that commonly arise in economically-depressed countries.
- Because of this, the Founders’ Fund is used where there is the most need at any given time.
- The Founders’ Fund also helps to cover the general operating costs of running a ministry world-wide.
Amor is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, so you can know that Amor continually reviews how we are using resources and how to best leverage donations and funds.

This year we have decided to create 12 Monthly Focus points to tell groups about to help all of us learn about Amor’s programs and to ask for your prayer in support of our programs. April’s monthly focus is Internships!
Amor has a few internship opportunities that provide a way for almost any individual to get involved with Amor on a deeper level.
Project Barnabas is our shortest internship opportunity. Project Barnabas volunteers are needed for 1-6 weeks in the spring to help assist Amor Team Members during our busy spring months. They work with alongside groups to encourage them and help Amor provide better customer service to each group.
Project Nexus is our summer internship for young adults ages 18-25. Project Nexus help assist Amor with building projects and programs, as well as serve our groups and families. Project Nexus is a designed to provide you with a hands-on, get dirty, get involved, ministry experience in a team setting. This year the Project Nexus program with run from May 29- August 7.
Our Year-Long Internship is our longest option and will give you a true view of how the Ministry runs on a day to day basis. The Year-Long Internship is often worked around your talents and goals, as well as including current needs of the Ministry.
Each internship helps the Ministry run smoothly and our interns are such an important part of the work at Amor.
For more information on our internships you can go to www.amor.org/join/internships.

This year we have decided to create 12 Monthly Focus points to tell groups about to help all of us learn about Amor’s programs and to ask for your prayer in support of our programs. March’s monthly focus is Project Hope: Clean Water for Life!
Project Hope: Clean Water for Life
- As you probably already know, clean water in Mexico does not simply run out of a tap like it does at home for us in the United States and other countries.
- It can be expensive and difficult for families to access clean water that is drinkable.
- Clean water is as much of a necessity to a family as adequate shelter.
- Amor’s Mexican Pastors distribute the Sawyer Point One [Water] Filter, which cleans five gallons of water in 13 minutes and has a one million-gallon guarantee.
- The water filters we give to families will provide 1 million gallons of clean water for a family of five for 186 years. That’s why we call it clean water “for life”.
- A water filter saves a medium-sized family $60-$80 a year in drinking water costs. That is enough money to guarantee that one of their children goes to school; public school is a $60/year per student cost to families in Mexico.
- Our Pastors are able to also use this water filter as an outreach tool for families that we may not be able to build a house for.
- Amor is currently only able to distribute water filters to families in Mexico, but we are hoping to be able to expand the program to our other Ministry Locations in the near future.
How You Can Help:
- A donation of $100 to Project Hope: Clean Water for Life provides a family with a source of clean drinking water (provides one water filter).
- Pray for donors to help Amor grow the Project Hope: Clean Water for Life program and be able to provide clean drinking water to families in need.
- Pray for the Pastors to find families in need of clean drinking water so that we can provide for their needs.
- If you want to purchase a water filter for a family you can do that at the Amor Store (while on your Amor Mission Trip), on our website, or call our San Diego office at 619.662.1200.
